Amy is a dedicated and technically skilled business professional with a versatile accounting, and office skill set developed through experience with full-cycle payroll and bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and office management.

She is a leader in our industry with 15+ years in office and accounting management, financial administration, and bookkeeping. In addition, Amy brings a wealth of experience from the healthcare, cattle, and oil and gas industries. She is pleased to bring her leadership and expertise to Innovation Physical Therapy.

In her spare time, Amy is passionate about her work with animal rescue.

Anthony Yong

Manual Physical Therapist

Anthony graduated from the Physical Therapy program at the University of Alberta. Since graduating, he has completed the Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic and Manual Manipulative Physiotherapy through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. He is registered as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy. He has also completed the Spinal Manipulation and Advanced Spinal Manipulation Certifications through Swodeam Institute. As an adjunct to manual therapy techniques and treatments, Anthony is certified in Biomedical Dry Needling and Advanced Biomedical Dry Needling techniques.

His involvement with athletics includes Physical Therapist for the Edmonton Rush Lacrosse Club of the NLL, Medical Advisory Board member with World Health, instructor of injury management and general stretching classes at the Running Room, Physical Therapist of Saint Albert/Spruce Grove Saints Junior A Hockey Club, Assistant Therapist for the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club, Physical Therapist for the 2001 IAAF World Track and Field Championships, and U of A Varsity Athletics to list a few.

Clinically, Anthony has a special interest in the rehabilitation of spinal (neck and back) injuries and helping to prepare future Physical Therapists as a Clinical Placement Instructor for Physical therapy students from the University of Alberta. Anthony combines manual therapy and active exercise programs to assist his patients’ optimal recovery. He also speaks Cantonese for those who may require a Cantonese-speaking Physical Therapist.

Himani Dang

Physical Therapist

Himani graduated from K.U.K, India, with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree. She has vast clinical experience working in in-patient and out-patient settings before moving to Canada and working as a physical therapist here since 2017.

Himani believes that everyone deserves to lead an active and pain-free lifestyle. She relies on multi-modal treatment approaches and emphasizes manual therapy, exercise therapy and education in her treatment plans. She enjoys treating musculoskeletal pains, motor vehicle injuries, sports injuries, pre and post-operative conditions and work-related injuries.

Himani is a certified Vestibular Therapist and planning on completing Dry Needling and Concussion courses.

In her free time, Himani enjoys doing long walks in the river valley and experimenting with her cooking skills in the kitchen.

Joyce Joseph

Physical Therapist, Acupuncture, Women’s Health

Joyce graduated from Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, India, in 2003 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree. Having completed her certifications in Acupuncture, Women’s Health and Clinical Skills in Treating Pain, Joyce always strives to provide a patient-centred treatment approach using manual therapy, acupuncture, and customized home exercises program. In addition, Joyce hopes to continue her education by obtaining spinal manipulation certifications and advanced certifications in treating pelvic health conditions.

Joyce believes in a multimodal approach to treating pain, and that management of chronic pain such as low back and neck pain requires a biopsychosocial approach. Joyce also believes in an active approach to building strength and resilience.

When Joyce is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Kevin Button

Kevin Button

Manual Physical Therapist

Kevin Button graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1987. Kevin has taken extensive postgraduate training in manual therapy and has obtained Intermediate and Advanced Diplomas in Manipulative Therapy.

Kevin has extensive experience treating sports injuries, injuries arising from motor vehicle accidents, and work-related accidents. Kevin has a particular interest in hockey injuries. Kevin is passionate about rehabilitating and educating his patients.

Kevin has extensive knowledge in designing injury and sport-specific exercise programs to help your rehabilitation and injury prevention.

In the past, Kevin has worked with the Edmonton Eskimo football club. In 1998 he finished the Canadian Ironman after completing several triathlons in the preceding five years. Current recreational pursuits with his family include golfing, walking and strength training. Kevin’s enjoyment of active living and exercise is a great asset to help empower his patients to enjoy exercise in their rehabilitation.

Kevin started working at Meadowlark Physical Therapy in 1987.

Hemal at Innovation

Hemal Penari

Physical Therapist

Hemal completed his Bachelors in Physiotherapy in 2008 and his Masters in Physiotherapy in 2011. He completed Physical Therapy Bridging Certificate program at University of Alberta to integrate with physiotherapy practices in Canada. He has more than 12 years of experience in Physiotherapy both in teaching and clinical practice. Hemal has completed his certification in Functional Dry Needling/ IMS, as well as Vestibular Rehabilitation. He has been constantly updating his skills and is interested to complete courses in Manipulation and concussion.

Hemal enjoys getting to know his patients, creates custom treatment plans along with home exercise programs to give them the power to control their body and movement. He uses various manual therapy techniques along with electrical modalities and customized exercise plan to achieve client centered goals. He also has special interest in rehabilitation of neck and back injuries.

In his free time, Hemal enjoys traveling and reading.

Pankaj Mudgal

Pankaj Mudgal is an international graduate from India with a Masters in Neurology, completed in 2009. With over 10 years of experience in private practice as well as with many hospitals, he has a vast knowledge in treating sports injuries, MSK injuries, chronic pain, vertigo, and concussion. He uses dry needles (IMS) and acupuncture in his treatments.

Pankaj is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu and has experience treating people from different cultural backgrounds. He connects with his patients and stresses on diagnosis. In his spare time, Pankaj enjoys playing badminton and volleyball, and loves to go hiking and camping with his family and friends.

Saadiya graduated from Athabasca University with a Master of Counselling degree specialization in Counselling Psychology in 2020. She is an accredited Registered Provisional Psychologist. She focuses on the therapeutic working alliance in therapy and utilizes evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Saadiya works collaboratively with clients and focuses on creating a non-judgmental space, so her clients can feel safe, understood, and empowered to reach their goals. Saadiya is Multilingual, so sessions can be in English, Punjabi, Urdu, or Hindi upon client request.

In this life journey, we experience all kinds of positive and negative events. As humans, we are equipped with unique strengths and resources that shape our resiliency when it comes to healing, changing, growing, and adapting. We may experience problems because of a disruption (internal or external) to our daily functioning, impacting how we feel, think, or behave.
