Ram is a highly accomplished physiotherapist with a solid academic background and extensive experience in orthopedic physical therapy. He graduated from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, India 1999, with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree, showcasing his dedication and commitment to the field. In 2005, he further enhanced his knowledge and skills by completing his Master of Physiotherapy from Jamia Hamdard, India.

With over 23 years of experience in orthopedic physical therapy, he has worked as a clinical physiotherapist in a multi-specialty hospital, where he applied his expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with orthopedic conditions. Additionally, he served as a clinical tutor in an academic setting, sharing his knowledge and mentoring aspiring physiotherapists.

Ram specializes in treating orthopedic patients using innovative techniques such as Dry Needling and Spinal Manipulation. He believes in utilizing advanced diagnostic methods and evidence-based intervention techniques to provide his patients with the most effective and tailored care.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Ram is fluent in Tamil and English, enabling him to communicate with a diverse range of patients effectively. Furthermore, he finds solace in his hobbies of cycling and swimming, often enjoying these activities with his family during his leisure time. His dedication to evidence-based practices and his genuine passion for helping patients achieve optimal health and well-being are testaments to his professionalism and expertise.

Jey Radhakrishnan

Jey received his Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree in 1998 from TN Dr. MGR Medical University, India and completed his Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy at Jamia Hamdard University, India, in 2004. He taught at various universities and worked with patients in India for a few years before moving to the UK, where he thrived on completing his Ph.D. at Brunel University, the UK, in 2013. He continued his clinical practice during and after his Ph.D. at the major National Health Care and private hospitals in the UK.

Recently he completed his post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Alberta and continues to instruct physiotherapy students. He has vast experience in treating patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, and cardiopulmonary conditions. He applies evidence-based practice in all patient care areas with a solid research background. Jey is specialized in exercise training and systematic conditioning for chronic diseases.

Jey has published his academic works in several scientific journals. In his pursuit of continued professional development, he has completed various clinical practice courses such as Fitness for Work, Gait Analysis, Acupuncture and Manual Therapy in the UK. He is currently working on updating them with advanced courses in Canada. Jey is also fluent in Tamil and Hindi for patients who feel more comfortable speaking those languages.

Jey enjoys playing badminton and swimming in his leisure time.

Sharanjeet (Sharan) Sharma

Sharon graduated from the Physical Therapy program at Baba Farid University and then continued her education with a Master’s in Neurology at CCS University. She has over 15 years of experience in treating orthopedic and sports injuries and neuro-musculoskeletal and pediatric conditions. She has been practicing as a certified Manual Mulligan Therapist since 2005. She plans on improving her manual therapy skills by pursuing a Diploma in Advanced Orthopedic and Manual Manipulative Physiotherapy offered by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Since graduating, she has completed her Fellowship of Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation with Indian SCI Rehab Center DELHI. She further continued expanding her knowledge base by completing Certification in Neurodynamic and Neurodevelopment Techniques (NDT) with Pediatric and Neurologic patients, as well as TMJ Dysfunction.

Sharon completed specialized certification in Concussion/Vestibular Rehabilitation and TMJ dysfunction in Canada. Also, to add mechanical advantage to treating soft tissue and fascial restrictions, she has certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM). As a GLA:D certified Therapist in Canada she enjoys working with Hip/Knee and Back osteoarthritic population. Sharan has completed her certification in Functional Dry Needling/IMS and plans on becoming CAFCI (Acupuncture) accredited. 

Through U of A’s Continuing Education Program she completed her advance certification in Pelvic Floor internal and external examination and treatment techniques. Sharon strongly believes in the clinic’s philosophy to empower through patient-centered care, education, and client-centered exercise programs to help clients gain enough skills allowing them to continue with their rehabilitation journey independently. 

Clinically, Sharon is passionate about working with patients of all ages and backgrounds who suffer Pelvic Dysfunction, TMJ dysfunction, Chronic pain, Spinal disorders, Athletic injuries, pre- and post-surgery rehab, Motor Vehicle and Work-related injuries. She is fluent in English, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi. Sharon is a valued and integral member of Innovation Physical Therapy.

Nelson Wong

Nelson graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. In his pursuit of advancing his skills in physical therapy, he has completed his medical acupuncture diploma and Diagnostic Imaging certification at the University of Alberta. Furthermore, Nelson has completed extensive manual therapy training through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Nelson has practiced in private practice for nearly 20 years treating various musculoskeletal injuries. He has a strong interest in manual therapy for the rehabilitation of injuries.

Nelson is registered with the College for spinal manipulation, needling and ordering diagnostic exams ( x-rays, MRIs, etc.).

Sarah Lynn Chernik graduated from MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy (2200-hour program) and is a member of CMMOTA (Canadian Massage and Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association). These achievements are in addition to her Bachelors of Archeology and Bachelors of Commerce (Human Resources) degrees from the University of Calgary.

After working for many years in the Labour Relations field, Sarah decided to return to school to explore the path of Massage therapy. During her schooling, she enjoyed learning about a variety of approaches and techniques, including Swedish, therapeutic/ deep tissue, myofascial release, manual lymphatic drainage for edema for the limbs, neck and face, non-Swedish, trigger point, joint play, basic prenatal, sports massage, chair massage and hydrotherapy. Her schooling gave her a strong foundation in knowledge of anatomy and pathology and tools and techniques that can be applied to relaxation and therapeutic/ deep tissue massages, enabling her to customize each session to her client’s needs. During the last two years, she has had the opportunity to work with various therapeutic conditions, including carpal tunnel, whiplash and fibromyalgia. Since graduation, she has already begun to explore continuing education, including coursework in Visceral Massage and Jade Stone Massage.

Sarah takes pride in being an inclusive and body-positive RMT and strongly believes in a holistic approach to health. She strives to create a respectful massage experience where the therapist and client work together towards achieving the client’s therapeutic or relaxation goals.

Sarah has been active all her life, including hobbies of basketball and fencing in her youth and a life-long passion for dance. A true geek at heart, Sarah also enjoys the creative challenge of cosplay (costuming for fun).

Lauren is a Student Massage Therapist who is currently still attending MaKami College, finishing her 3000-hour Advanced Clinical Massage Program. She has learned several techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue and myofascial cupping, trigger point therapy, lymph massage, etc. She has also learned several spa treatments as well.

Lauren is passionate about treating clients therapeutically to help them achieve optimum health and is also a member of the CRMTA (Certified Registered Massage Therapist Association).

Registered Dietitian

Murphy graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Science. She completed her Integrated Dietetic Internship through the University of Alberta to become a Registered Dietitian. Over the past five years, she has gained extensive experience counselling patients with various health concerns and goals.

Murphy is passionate about creating healthy relationships with food, tailoring her approach to each patient’s specific needs, and helping patients develop healthy, sustainable habits that don’t take the enjoyment out of eating.

Murphy is a self-proclaimed “foodie” who loves cooking and travelling to new places to try different cuisines! She is also a member of the College of Dietitians of Alberta.

Registered Provisional Psychologist

Saadiya graduated from Athabasca University with a Master of Counselling degree specialization in Counselling Psychology in 2020. She is an accredited Registered Provisional Psychologist. She focuses on the therapeutic working alliance in therapy and utilizes evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

Saadiya works collaboratively with clients and focuses on creating a non-judgmental space, so her clients can feel safe, understood, and empowered to reach their goals. Saadiya is Multilingual, so sessions can be in English, Punjabi, Urdu, or Hindi upon client request.

In this life journey, we experience all kinds of positive and negative events. As humans, we are equipped with unique strengths and resources that shape our resiliency when it comes to healing, changing, growing, and adapting. We may experience problems because of a disruption (internal or external) to our daily functioning, impacting how we feel, think, or behave. This can result in feeling a loss of control and autonomy over our lives. A central tenant to Saadiya’s approach in counselling is empowerment, where she supports her clients to empower themselves: regain independence and control over their lives. She specializes in working with Post-Injury, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Chronic Pain, Depression, Stress, Anxiety, and Trauma related to Motor Vehicle Accidents.

In her free time, Saadiya enjoys travelling and spending quality time with her friends and family.
